Northampton hospital's Covid-19 death toll climbs past 60 with 113 victims across the county

The official Covid-19 death toll at Northampton General Hospital now stands at more than 60.
Today's NHS announcement of five more confirmed fatalities at the hospital took the grim total to 113 at Northamptonshire's two acute hospitals.

Hide AdThese latest figures include four who died on Saturday (April 11) and five on Easter Sunday. all having tested positive for coronavirus.
Staff at the Northampton hospital have now seen 63 people die — 32 in one week from April 6 — as at 5pm yesterday (April 13).
Two more more deaths were reported at Kettering General Hospital, one on Easter Sunday and one last Thursday, taking the total there to 50.
Public Health England also revealed the UK's reported death toll in hospitals has climbed to 12,107, a rise of 778 in the previous 24 hours.
And a total of 93,873 people have tested positive nationwide as at 9am today.
