Line up for Daventry Arts Festival

There will be more than a week’s worth of entertainment running from Saturday June 18 to Sunday June 26.
The Hat and the Hair will be holding a three day music event in the garden of Casey’s Bar alongside a community market held in the market square

The theatre company Munchkins and Monsters is putting on two family friendly performances at The Saxon Suite at Daventry.
Back in Time for Breakfast can be seen at 1.30pm on Saturday and 1.30pm on Sunday sees the much loved children’s book Wind in the Willows adapted.

Hide AdIt is £5 for a standard ticket and £18 for family ticket of two adults and two children and free to youngsters aged one and under.
For the first time at Daventry Arts Festival, people will get the chance to showcase their talents at a Community Stage.
Throughout the festival, it will be located at the bandstand at the top of Sheaf Street.
The festival organisers are encouraging all groups to book the stage to exhibit, dance, sing, recite or promote.

Hide AdThe stage is available between 10am and 4pm from Saturday June 18 to Sunday June 26 although alternative timings may be available by special request.

Among the other attractions are a meeting of Daventry Art Club on Thursday June 23 from 10am to 12pm at Daventry Museum while people can learn Tudor Dancing on Saturday June 18 at Bowen Square.
Daventry Photographic Society is organising a photo competition with the deadline for entries on Friday June 10 while the Women’s Cycle Tour passes through the town from 11am to 1pm on Sunday June 19.

Hide AdWanna geneaologists can go alone to Daventry Museum from 2pm to 4pm to discover the hidden secrets of the past while if your interest is more skywards, a star gazing event takes place on Borough Hill from 9pm on Monday June 20.
There is a summer solstice parade through the town starting at 11am on Saturday June 18 while people can have a go at some street art with chalk drawing on the pavements within Daventry town centre.
The Daventry District Forum is lining up guest speakers and entertainment from 2pm on Wednesday June 22 at the Saxon Suite.
People will soon be in fine voice when a workshop hosted by the JuditSingers comes to Daventry Methodist Church from 2pm to 4pm on Saturday June 25.

Hide AdCampanologists of all experience can also learn more about bell ringing on the same day starting at 10.30am at the Holy Cross Church,
A concert by Daventry Music School will also be held at the same venue on Saturday June 25.
Also coming as part of the festival is Daventry in 100 Objects, an exhibition which has its opening during the festival.
Many of the items on show are from the museum stores that have rarely been seen before, amongst other objects that represent a piece of Daventry’s rich history.
