AN EVENING of Swedish music will be performed at St Mary's Church in Everdon next Saturday.
The concert will be led by Magnus Johansson and the St Mikael Swedish Choir and is due to start at 6pm.

It is a rare chance to see them as they are travelling over from Sweden for the gig with the proceeds from the concert going towards the resto
ration of St Mary’s Church in Everdon.

Magnus, who is a trumpeteer, has performed in the past with such stars as Diana Ross, Shirley Bassey, Natalie Cole, Tom Jones, Steve Wonder and Burt Bacharach. More recently, he has concentrated on solo work by producing CDs of his work and has composed the Swedish entrant to the Eurovision song contest.

He has been brought to play here by his sister Pia Harris who lives in the village and is delighted that he could help out.

Pia said: “It means a lot that my brother is coming to play here.

“He is a very famous musician in Sweden and played with a lot of very famous people.

“The fact that he is coming to play in the church and that the money is going towards the restoration of the church means a lot to everyone in the village.”

Tickets can be bought by contacting Doreen Bodily on 01327 361601 or on the door.
