BYFIELD Parent and Teacher Association (PTA) is putting on a music evening in a bid to raise funds.
That's Entertainment will be held at Byfield Village Hall on March 29 at 6.30pm and funds raised will go to Byfield Primary School.
Heather Prestidge, who has organised the event with Tony Bignald, said: "The school is very old and there are a lo
t of things that need doing so we have to come up with ways of raising the money to help the school do this."
Money raised at the concert will be used to buy equipment for a covered play area for the foundation stage children.
The event will feature 12 different acts – bands from Byfield, Daventry, Woodford Halse and Towcester and solo guitarists.
They will be performing different styles of music, ranging from rock and sounds inspired by the Blues Brothers to more modern popular music.
Heather added: "We have a couple of groups that are quite young and there are some groups that are not quite so young."
It is the first concert of this type organised by the PTA, which has previously held cabaret evenings at the village hall to raise money for the school.
Heather said: "We wanted to do something different and while it hasn't been without its problems, the preparations are running smoothly."
Tickets for the event cost £7 and can be booked by ringing Heather on 01327 262105 or John Rogers on 01327 260512.
