PUPILS from Danetre School will have the chance to light up the sky like a flame when they perform Fame next week.
The all singing and dancing spectacular will see 26 children aged between 11-15 take to the stage, with more than 30 other youngsters working behind the scenes.

Director and teacher James Tibbles said: “We have really worked in partnership with the children to put this show together and they have all been tremendously enthusiastic about working on this project.”

The children have been working on the show, which has been choreographed by Year 11 student Georgina Caird, since January.

James said: “Georgina has been great at working with the children to put on the show and coming up with actions to suit the words of the song.

“We’ve had different stages of delight, from getting the stage ready to getting costumes ready and now we can’t wait for the opening night.”

There will be four performances of the musical, which runs from Wednesday to Saturday at 7.30pm.

Tickets cost £6 for adults and £4 for concessions and can be booked by ringing Danetre School on 01327 313400 and asking for the finance office.
