A LOCAL potter will be selling his work at a craft show this weekend.
Chris Dawes has been potting for 20 years and running his own business for 17 years from his home in South Close, Daventry.

He makes mostly domestic ware, including plates, mugs and bowls and has even provided entire dinner services for people in
the past.

He will be exhibiting his work at the Sandringham Park Craft Show, which starts tomorrow (Friday) and will be going on throughout the weekened.

Chris said: “It all started when my wife, who’s quite artistic, wanted to go back to college and just to do something different, I decided to try pottery.

“It’s a job that I really genuinely enjoy and am making far more money now than I ever did in my previous job.”

Chris is not only selling his pottery for a living, he is also passing his skills onto other people by holding workshops at his home.

Five ladies who originally attended a 10-week course are still taking lessons two years later.

He said: “They make some fantastic stuff and they are a great set of girls to work with.”

Tickets for the craft show cost £5 for adults, £4.50 for OAPs and £2 for children and can be bought on the door.

For more information on Chris’ work contact him on 01327 872825.
