I am writing about concerns regarding the position of the new Daventry Brass Band
hall building.
We are not opposed to Daventry having such a building. The brass band has proved to have given both musicians and the public much pleasure over the years but the proposed new site is totally wrong for more than one reason.
The plans only accommoda
ted limited parking spaces, therefore especially during concert events, there will be traffic parked on the surrounding roads causing obstruction and danger to the general public and emergency services and children who use the nearby play area.
Although the plans state the noise problem has been resolved, this will never be 100 per cent proof especially with young groups (rock and pop groups), as it cannot be guaranteed that rules regarding security with windows and doors affecting noise reduction will be adhered to.
This would not be an issue in a more open location for the hall rather than this proposed site which is in such a dense residential area.
I and many people feel that such areas as Browns Road football club and near the rugby club would be more appropriate where there is more land for car parking and it can take the noise.
I would like to add the residents in the Daneholme area were led to believe that last year the plans were withdrawn.
