High praise for tug of war event

I THINK that everybody concerned with the tug of war event that took place in Daventry over the weekend
is deserving of the
highest praise.
The level of sportsmanship shown by the competitors from around the UK was extremely high – indeed at no time was it anything but perfect – and the officials worked effectively and efficiently to keep the contest moving at a reasonable
pace.

On the other hand I was surprised that so few of the people who complain that 'there is nothing to do in Daventry' bothered to attend as spectators.
