With reference to all the recent articles about the new villages on and around Borough Hill surely someone has made Borough Hill a 'listed area'? If not they have missed a trick.
The area has so much history just under the surface with finds from medieval, Saxon, Roman and even Iron Age settlements. That hill is probably the original "Daventry".
The developers have no conscience about anything to do with local history as t
heir only interest is money.
The people in Whitehall are not interested…they don't know where Daventry is, let alone have any feelings for it.
I know that lots more homes are needed in and around the area but there are limits to what should and should not be allowed. Surely there are plenty of genuine 'brownfield' sites available that have not had industrial use for many years (and are never likely to have) which could be written over for affordable housing, be it local or further afield ie Northampton.
Please, people of Daventry, if you value your history and your remaining local countryside try to obtain 'listed status' for the area which should make it very difficult for anyone to build on what is a beautiful area with wonderful views of the surrounding countryside, which will be blighted by these unwanted constructions.

love for the area)
