More police not larger booze ban

Altering the Designated Public Places Order is not going to solve the problem of drunken people intimidating others. It will only move the problem to some other place.
The problem is not people drinking in public places but rather the unacceptable behaviour, which often accompanies drunkenness.
If people are urinating around the bench, leaving litter, swearing and verbally abusing passersby they are already committing an offence for which they can be prosecuted.
The problem of this type of antisocial behaviour could be solved if there was an adequate level of policing on the streets of Daventry.
That the problem exists is irrefutable evidence that there is not!
