Regarding the iCon announcement (see page 7). This was justifiably a celebration of imaginative modern architecture and partnership working (incidentally the building selected was also my choice).
But more importantly it has put a marker down, confirming Daventry means business, that despite troubled times we are looking to the future, meeting the challenge of the 21st century, and with the support and input from the University of Northampton and BRE, providing a centre for leading edge and emerging technologies.

Likewise through the Daventry Learning Partnership, the new Learning Quarter will provide, in an increasingly competitive world, the opportunity for improved and higher education, high value employment, and one trusts a successful and prosperous future for all our citizens, whatever their talents and abilities.

Daventry is back on the investment map. With this project we are taking the first step towards realising one of the council's key objectives, to make Daventry a "centre of excellence" in the premier league of market towns.

Cllr Chris Over
