Last Friday my son took my six-month-old grandson to the baby pool at the Daventry Leisure Centre.
This was to be his first introduction to swimming. Naturally I think, his partner felt she would like to have a photographic record of this event. There are notices on display saying that cameras are not allowed and we were informed this is the policy of the leisure centre.
We did explain to the receptionist that it would have been nice to take photographs of my grandson in the water. When my son's partner produced her camera by the side of the pool the lifeguard gave several blasts on his whistle and came down from his rostrum to remonstrate with her.
What a sad world we must be living in when a mother cannot take photographs of her own child at play and is branded as a potential pervert.
