LAST Wednesday evening I attended the Daventry District Council planning meeting concerning the relocation of the band hall.
I did not know what to expect and I thought there would be time for questions to be put to the chairman, but no. Exactly three quarters of an hour later the meeting was over and planning permission was given.

What disgusted me the most was the councillor representing the residents did not even vote against the plans. We want people who are on our side, not the planner's.

It was a foregone conclusion that the plans would go ahead.

In making way for the band hall the trees will go. No-one seems to care about that, certainly not the planning committee. I am quite sure that apart from the usual objections (noise, extra traffic etc.) the residents don't want to lose these trees.
