IN RESPONSE to the letter Not much fun at the fair (Daventry Express, September 25).
While fully understanding the negative points regarding the fair made by the writer, the positive points were the amount of people who visited our town because of the fair. It was fantastic to see families, teenagers, young and old out enjoying themselves.

Not everyone visited the fair to go on the rides; some just went to walk around a town that had been 'rejuvenated' by the fair. More needs to be done to encourage people to use the town, bringing revenue for the shops, and so encouraging other retailers to come to Daventry.
