PUPILS from an infant school in the town have netted top place in a tournament.
Year Two children, aged between six and seven, from Southbrook Infant School took part in the Daventry and District Schools Year Two Tennis Tournament held at the Daventry campus of Northampton College earlier this month.

The six youngsters fought off competition from schools across the district to win the event and were due to take part in a countywide tournament yesterday (Wednesday) afternoon in Northampton.

The school set up the tennis club for Year Two pupils in January.

Jane Badger, headteacher of Southbrook Infant School, said: “We are very proud of the children and their achievements. ”
