A SCHOOLBOY from Daventry is heartbroken after the bike he saved for months to buy was stolen from outside a shop.
Alex Fenemore, 12, from Ashby Fields, saved up pocket and birthday money from August so that he could buy himself a blue and black Flite Punisher Freestyle BMX at the end of November.

But on Friday, December 4, only two weeks after he bought the b
ike, it was stolen by thieves from outside the Tesco Express in Wimborne Place, Daventry.

Alex said: "It felt good to save up and buy the bike.
"I like BMX and I picked the type I wanted out.
"I left it outside the shop and went in to get some sweets. When I came out it had gone.
"I didn't know where it had gone or what had happened.
"I ran home and told my mum. Then when I was out about 10 minutes later I saw two boys riding on it, but they were too far away for me to shout at them."

His mum, Vikki Birch, said: "Alex has been very upset about it. He saved his money to buy it and then in two weeks it was taken from him.
"He was so pleased when he finally got it and was showing it off at every chance. But now he's back to square one.
"I know he should have locked it, but children don't always understand.
"Unfortunately I think Alex has had his world rocked - it's been a difficult lesson for him to learn.
"He used it to get to school at Danetre, and without a bike it is too long a walk really.
"I just feel upset that anybody would do that without a care or thought about how their actions affect other
people."

The boys seen on the bike were riding near Ericsson Close and heading towards Roman Way.
They are both described as white, aged 14-15, of medium build and approximately 5ft 4ins. Both were wearing black hooded-tops and dark baseball caps. One was wearing grey tracksuit bottoms.

Witnesses or anyone with information, should call police on 03000 111222 or talk anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555111
