A BUDDING animator from Woodford Halse has reached the national finals of a craft competition.
Graham Gardiner-Jones, 12, has reached the final stages of the junior category of Hobbycraft's Big Arts and Craft Challenge with his plasticine and card scene called 'Learning To Swim - An Animated Farmyard Scene'.

The winner, who received £150 of craft vouchers for them and their school, will be decided by a public vote, which closes today (Friday March 28).

Graham said: "The scene I entered for the competition was inspired by our stables here.

"It took quite a bit of work and a while to come up with the idea."

The scene shows ducks being taught how to swim, watched by sheep, a horse and other farmyard animals, in Graham's trademark claymation style.

Previously Graham's own characters and those inspired by Wallace and Gromit have appeared on children's TV.

People can view Graham's entry in the Hobbycraft competition and vote via www.hobbycraft.co.uk.
