Calm start to 2009

THE start of 2009 passed without major incident in Daventry say police.
By 6am on January 1 Northamptonshire Police had dealt with 444 incidents, managed 148 non-emergency calls, and 355 emergency calls across the county.
No major incidents were reported.
Police say this is an increase on a normal night, but fewer than expected for New Year's Eve.
