FOUR friends planning on running the New York Marathon are putting on a fun fundraising event.
Sarah Hennings from Preston Capes, Pip Rutherford from Farthingstone and Helen and Tim Pope from Abthorpe are heading to the Big Apple in November to run in the event and raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.

But instead of simply asking people to sponsor them at £10 a go, they plan to give people something back for their money with a special event on Friday, September 26 with a disco, barbecue, secret auction, raffle and other things.

Tickets cost £10 and all the money raised by the four will go to the charity as they are paying for their own flights and accommodation.

The event runs at Sarah Hennings’ home in Preston Capes from 8pm until late, and camping is optional.

To get tickets or for more information call either 01327 340726 or 01327 361537.
