A YOUTH counselling and information service in Daventry has received a £2,000 donation.
Time2Talk, based at the Abbey, was given the money from the Co-operative Community Fund to help pay for health advice and activity sessions for obese young people in the area.
Manager Andrew Nixon said: “We are very grateful for this Co-operative grant to help tackle the growing problem of obesity. This project seeks to improve the health and lifestyles of young people, boosting their self esteem and improving their life chances.”
Paul Cranfield, regional secretary for The Co-operative, said: “The community fund can make a real and lasting contribution to local communities and this Daventry project is a deserving cause.
“Many community groups share our co-operative values and could benefit from an award, and we would certainly welcome their applications.”
