Man suffers assault in town centre

AN ASSAULT took place in the early hours of Sunday morning in Daventry town centre.
The incident happened at 2.50am near the entrance to Bowen Square.

The victim was a 34-year-old man who was walking along with a female when he was knocked to the ground from behind.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the assault. The offender is described as white, aged late 20s to early 30s of medium build with short black/brown hair.

He is believed to be between 5ft 10 and 6ft and wearing blue jeans and a green T-shirt.
