TWO Braunston ladies will be stepping out to raise money and awareness of breast cancer.
Daventry Express receptionist Ann-Marie Morris and her friend Izzy Wane have been training since the start of the year for the 2008 Playtex MoonWalk, which will see them walk 26 miles around central London, at night, in decorated bras.

The extraordinary moonlit marathon and half-marathon will take place on May 17 and will start and finish at Hyde Park.

Mrs Morris said: “Izzy registered to do the walk and I thought ‘I’d love to do something like that’, so I registered as well.

“We started training in the new year and it’s going very well.

“We have been training at Draycote Water and we have done a 15-mile walk but we need to get that up to 20 miles now.”

Since the first MoonWalk in 1998, more than 140,000 women and men have taken on the challenge and raised around £35 million for breast cancer research and cancer care.

This year another 15,000 walkers will be striding out together in their decorated bras as part of that event, organised by health charity Walk the Walk Worldwide.

Mrs Morris added: “We’re really looking forward to it but it’s going to be a challenge.

“We’re hoping to get combined sponsorship of £1,300 so we need lots of sponsors.”
