AN ELDERLY lady was targeted in a distraction burglary in Chipping Warden on Sunday.
At around 12.45pm a man called to the home of a 77-year-old woman in Arbury Banks.
He claimed the woman had won £10 in a local raffle but said he needed some change for a £20 note so she could receive her prize.

He then asked for a glass of water and asked to hold the woman's purse. When she refused he grabbed the bag her purse was in and left heading towards the A361.

The man is described as white, in his late 30s or early 40s and thick set. He was about 5ft 10ins tall and wore a blue jumper.

Witnesses or anyone with information should contact Northamptonshire Police on 08453 700700 or talk anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
