PARTYING youngsters from the Daventry area have helped raise hundreds of pounds for local children's charities.
A committee of nine local parents got together to organise the Mirror Ball event, which was held last month at The Square nightclub in Bowen Square, Daventry.

Around 230 teenagers aged 14 to 16 all paid £20 for a ticket to attend the event, and party the night away.

Committee chairman Juliet Eckersley said: “It was a huge success. They all really enjoyed it.”

Money raised from the ball was split between Children Come First and Time2Talk – both based in The Abbey in Daventry – with each receiving £1,750.

Maurice Fermoy, owner of The Square, said: “We were very happy to give the venue at zero cost for an event where all the money is going to charity.

“This is something we gave back to the community that was very positive.”
