ANGLIAN Water has confirmed that tap water is now safe to drink.
The company has lifted the boil notice following an accelerated cleaning and flushing programme over the week.

Green all clear notices will be posted to people in the Daventry area over the weekend.

Customers in all the affected areas are now advised they can start drinking the tap water without needing to boil it.

Jonson Cox, Anglian Water's chief executive, said: "Our customers have been understanding, patient and helpful throughout this incident.

"I am delighted that today we are able to lift this boil notice for all of those affected.

"I am particularly pleased that we have been able to remove the restrictions for customers in the Daventry area up to a fortnight earlier than originally anticipated."
