Your opportunity to meet the new town mayor
A NEW Mayor of Daventry will be sworn in on Monday in a modernised ceremony.
The swearing in of Peter Harper, current deputy mayor, will take place at Daventry Town Council's annual civic meeting.
The ceremony and meeting will then be followed by a more informal 'Meet the Mayor' event to be held upstairs in Jesson's Well the same evening. A number of invited dignatories will be there, but the event at 8pm will also be open to the public to meet their mayor.
It is expected that this Meet the Mayor will be the first of a series held over the year.
