Daventry made it three wins from three with a comprehensive demolition of rivals Long Buckby.
With eight tries scored and some scintillating rugby played in the second-half, the Blacks have laid down their marker for the rest of the season.
Last week the average age of the Long Buckby team was in the low 20s. This week it was in the low 40s
as Stef Dearkes, Paul Tierney, Matt Haynes and Ken Brand were needed to bolster the numbers.
Stuart Welling played, carrying an injury, and Ricky Nixon made his first team debut for Bucks.
Daventry made the better start seemingly cruising over the advantage line at will, but could not seem to string the last phase together.
It was evident early on that the smaller Long Buckby pack would be no match for the likes of Alex Grundy and Jason Cooper at scrum time.
A well-worked line-out move created Daventry's first try. Martyn Skinner rose high before shifting the point of contact to Mark Hyde who crashed through a gaping hole before off-loading neatly to Skinner who charged over for a try.
Under-strength Buckby put up a determined battle right up to the whistle. But two penalties, one for either side, put Daventry 8-3 ahead, before Richard Mansell crashed over from close range to make it 15-3 at half-time.
The second-half carried on in a similar fashion but with Buckby's Jack McDill forced to leave the field with concussion, an injury to Paul Tierney and a sin-bin offence saw Daventry take the upper hand.
Although Daventry built up a comfortable lead, the last 10 minutes saw them run in three soft tries. There was an excellent defensive performance from Adrian Flynn who also kicked Long Buckby's only points.
Jordan Brown slotted the extras and grabbed a 14 point haul on the day in a mature performance. Creating chances seemingly at ease the half-time score could easily have been more.
Despite scrapping well in defence Buckby offered little in attack apart from the boot of fly-half Flynn.
The second-half belonged to Luke Jones who grabbed himself a hat-trick. The first following a lovely dummy which allowed him to get round his man on the outside and cruise over from 25 metres out.
Jason Cooper grabbed himself a double, the pick of them followed a team move combining strong running and good off-loading with Alistair Brighton, Dave Marks and the outstanding Hyde all involved.
With the game sewn up, young fly-half Sean Markus was given his chance to stake a claim and the ex-Colt put in a lively performance.
A well-worked tap penalty move saw Cooper crash over for his second try, before replacement Marks added the final score scampering over in the corner, following more interplay between backs and forwards.
With just eight points conceded in three games, and their attacking game seemingly beginning to click Daventry are up and running. On Saturday Daventry host Men's Own at Stefen Hill while Long Buckby are away to Deepings. Kick off 3pm.
Tries; Luke Jones 3, Jason Cooper 2, Richard Mansell, Dave Marks and Martyn Skiner. Conv; Jordan Brown 4 and Sean Marcus 1. Pens; Jordan Brown 2
Daventry Seconds 38
Towcester Thirds 3
Daventry made it two league wins from two games as they ran out easy winners 38-0 over a lacklustre Towcester third team on Saturday afternoon.
Daventry applied pressure on the Towcester defence early on, but after a string of handling errors the home side found themselves defending their own line.
Luke Essex turned defence into attack to race nearly the length of the pitch and put Trevor Hewitt over for the opening try.
Number eight Shannon Thompson crashed over for the home side's second try.
Winger Tom Lowry soon increased Daventry's lead further as he rounded the Towcester defence to finish off some good Daventry play and end the first-half with a 19-0 lead. The second-half was a scrappy affair, but Daventry still doubled their lead.
Firstly through scrum-half Gareth Dudgeon who showed good strength to cross the Towcester line. Dudgeon then finished off a good Daventry break to claim his second try of the match. Trevor Hewitt also claimed his second of the game late on. Man of the match deservedly went to the hard working second row Lee Cresswell.
Tries, Hewitt 2, Dudgeon 2, Lowry 1,Thompson 1; Conversions, Essex 3, Hockham 1.
Other results: Daventry Thirds 15, Vauxhall Motors II 12; Daventry Colts 10, Leighton Buzzard 52. (Tries; Nick Berry and Calum Spires).
Man of the Match was Nick Berry.
Leicester Forest First 10
Towcestrians Firsts 12
new-look Towcestrians with three new players making their first team debuts, created all the early pressure.
After several attempts, flanker Joe Threlfall got the touch down and the start Tows needed. A series of penalties against Tows put the home side back into the game as their fly-half Roux, slotted a penalty to start their account.
Matt Bodily burst through several tackles to score under the posts. With Jamie King adding the conversion, it took Tows into half-time 3-12 ahead.
Roux converted his own try and suddenly Tows looked to have squandered the
advantage. Tows' Cave and Hopewell showed good moves and although Tows countered with promising moves they were unable to score at vital moments.
They continued to frustrate Forest who pressed harder to secure the advantage.
Injuries to Tows back row players allowed a third player on his debut Josh Taylor onto the field, and his contribution was vital in the last 10
minutes of the game.
Tows, now fielding four Colts players, showed determination to secure an important away league win by two points
