Athletes bag 10 golds

Daventry Athletic Club
members collected a total of 22 medals, including 10 golds at the Northants Track and Field Championships at the weekend.
The highlight was a new club record of 4.77m in the U13s boys' long jump by Sam Meyler, who also collected a
silver medal in the 100m.

Former record holder Ryan Haynes finished second in the long jump (4.49m) and javelin (26.46m) and third in the high jump (1.40m).

Matthew Clarke was a double gold medallist in the U13s boys' javelin (28.49m) and shot (7.34m) while Keiron Russ won the U13 boys' high jump with a clearance of 1.45m and finished third in the javelin.

In the U13 girls' age group Abie Boland won the 100m and was placed second in the long jump (3.98m), while Emily Spilman won silver in the high jump with 1.30m. Paige Hobbs won a bronze medal in the U11 girls' 600m (2.10.9).

Medallists at U17 level included Chris Clarke in the hammer (gold) and triple jump (silver), Aaron Young in the 1500m (bronze) and Hannah Green in the girls' javelin
(silver), long jump (bronze) and high jump (bronze).

Michael Fenn won the U20s men's long jump with a leap of 6.32m while Tom Abdy was a triple gold medallist in the senior men's pole vault, shot and long jump.
