Cyclist breaks course record

Daventry cyclists raced a 7½-mile course near Grandborough last Wednesday.

James Heaton produced another fine ride, winning the race and breaking the course record by three seconds with a time of 16 mins nine secs.
Craig Sterrett was second with 17 mins 46 secs. Marina Bloom was the fastest woman with a new personal best of 18mins 58 secs. Other times were Mike McGillion 19mins 44 secs, Mike Bloom 20mins 26 secs, Richard Kenworthy 21mins 01secs, Steve Bond 22mins and newcomer to the sport Amrit Singh, who has never cycled more than 100 miles in his life produced an impressive time of
8mins 48 secs.

Marina and Mike Bloom travelled to Bedford on Sunday for a 25-mile time trial, Marina won the ladies' event with a time of 1hr 4mins 03secs and Mike rode on a single geared bike and produced a time of 1hr 09mins 20secs.

The next evening race is Wednesday 23rd
at Frankton.
