Good reason to crack open Champagne

TRAINER Gerald Bailey is optimistic that Richard Hunnisett can put the celebrations on ice until after next Monday evening's Volkswagen Touareg Gentleman's Hunters' Chase Final card at Towcester when the first race is due off at 6.05pm.
Hunnisett had good reason to crack open the Champagne at Dingley on Sunday when Harapour gave him his 50th winner in the saddle in the Confined Hunts race.

Best known for his association with multiple winner Copper Thistle, Hunnisett has enjoyed a
productive fortnight, having won the Men's Open on Denvale at Garthorpe seven days earlier.

Denvale is the horse being aimed at Towcester next Monday and with three course wins to his name, the Bailey camp has every reason to be optimistic about the
horse's chance.

"There is only one man to ride the horse but let's hope the weight does not become an issue!" laughed Bailey whose own son Jonathan was also in the winners' enclosure at Dingley for just the second time, after a victory on My Best Buddy.

Other county interest in the Volkswagen showdown is likely to include Tender Tangle who is trained by actress Sam Loggin at Hinton-in-the Hedges.

Multi-tasking is clearly not a problem for Loggin who has produced the 13 year-old to win his last three starts in points, to earn a stab at the valuable hunter chase prize. Good ground or faster is a pressing priority for Tender Tangle.

To prove her diversity, Loggin has just finished filming alongside Philip Glenister in an episode of The Last Van Helsing which is due to be screened in an ITV series in the autumn.
