IN the showcase final of the season, Harpole were chasing the double for the second season in succession.
In the eighth minute Harpole's Stu Clark crossed into the middle of the penalty area for Dan Surridge to rocket his shot into the back of the net to make it 1-0.

Surridge added another goal from a corner kick to make it 2-0.

But a shell-shocked
Moulton were not ready to surrender and started to take more control of the game as the half progressed.

Moulton were still trying to get back into it in the 35th minute and after some good build up play Nick Worley shot just wide and a minute later Worley left a cross for Adam Sandle, who put his shot just wide of the post.

On the stroke of half-time Alex Deakin was played in for Harpole but his shot was blocked by keeper, Tom Ingate. The cleared ball carried to Worley who made a great run from his own half, but unfortunately with no support he lost possession leaving the half-time score on
2-0 in Harpole's advantage.

The play was even in the second-half and both teams were making good use of the ball.

Moulton kept pressing, but Harpole looked comfortable for their lead most of the time.

With Harpole defending well, Moulton kept to their task and with about a minute of the 90 left, Worley was fouled in the penalty area.

Referee Wayne Bright had no hesitation in awarding the penalty. Daniel Barnes stepped up and fired home a pile-driver for 2-1.

With little time left, Harpole stepped up their game once more and kept some good possession for the remainder of the time to see out a 2-1 win and to seal the double.

The triumph meant back-to-back league and cup doubles for Harpole and capped another outstanding season.
