James smashes course record

Daventry cyclist James Heaton obliterated the field of riders in the 10-mile time trial held last Wednesday evening, smashing the course record with a personal best time of 20mins 55secs.
Other Daventry riders were Craig Sterrett 23mins 29secs, Marina Bloom 25mins 14secs, Robert Keeves 25mins 45secs, Mike Bloom 27mins 45secs, Richard Kenworthy 28mins 02secs, Steve Bond 29mins 44secs and Amrit Singh with
33mins 40secs.

On Thursday evening, James Heaton repeated his performance by winning the Coventry RC 10-mile at Princethorpe. He improved his day-old personal best to record 20mins 28secs. Marina was first lady with 24mins 16secs, Mike 26mins 21secs and Amrit with 33mins exactly.

On Sunday, Marina rode a 30-mile time trial
near Bedford.

Not only was she first lady but she also broke her club's lady record for 30miles by more than four mins with a time of 1hr 12mins 53secs.
