Ashby Timken got much the better of a drawn derby with West Haddon in Division Four on a day when many matches in the massive 14-division County League were abandoned because of rain.
On home soil the Cold Ashby batsmen totalled a highly-respectable 154 for four from 49 overs before restricting their newly-promoted next door neighbours to only
77 for six.

David Dowdeswell made top score of 63 with Martin Standen (36) and Todd Hewitt (25) adding able support as West Haddon bowlers Phil Perryman and Phil Wright shared the only four wickets
to fall.

In reply, Hewitt and Shane Willey each claimed two wickets as Benjy Taylor (24) helped West Haddon to hold out for a scarcely-deserved draw.
Meanwhile, Long Buckby (193 for seven) also came out well on top in a drawn encounter with Wollaston IIs (108 for eight) at Station Road in Division Three.

Phil Wallace (49 runs) was Buckby's top batsman, while the bowling honours went to Stuart Clarke with three wickets for only 26 runs.

In Division Six, Bugbrooke (117 for eight) were no match for Isham IIs (121 for two) in losing comprehensively by eight wickets.

David Ivins (32) kept Bugbrooke afloat, with Liam Saunders claiming both the Isham wickets to fall on an afternoon when rain had the final say in many scheduled matches.

Fixtures on Saturday include derby games involving West Haddon and Guilsborough (Division Four), Bugbrooke and Bugbrooke St Michaels 74 (Six), as well as Heyford IIs and Bugbrooke IIs (12).

Other matches include Old Wellingburians v East Haddon (Two), Loddington v Long Buckby (Three), Peterborough Town IIs v Heyford, Wicken v Ashby Timken (Four), Northants Police v Harlestone (Five), Badby v Gretton, Wellingborough Town IIs v Yelvertoft (Seven), Ashby Timken IIs v Kislingbury, East Haddon IIs v Loddington IIs, Long Buckby IIs v Barton Seagrave (Eight), Bold Dragoon v Daventry, Harlestone IIs v Spencer (Nine), Higham Ferrers IIs v St Michaels 74 IIs (10), Abington v Long Buckby IIs, Guilsborough IIs v Obelisk IIs (12), Mears Ashby IIs v West Haddon IIs, Weekley IIs v Kislingbury IIs (13).
