Tense time for Charity Cup semi-final ties

This week saw the semi finals of the Charity Cup. The first match saw The Ex Men take on the Workers at the St James club.
The Workers took the first game with a win for Max Murray (100, 123, 130) over 'Apple' (100x2,140).
Brian Farmer (100, 116f) overcame Dave Hewitt to level the match. Taff Hartley (100x3) beat Dave Summerfield (100x3, 121) to restore the lead for T
he Workers only for Chris Gay (180,140, 100x3) to beat Ray Jones (140x2, 127) to level once again.
Ray Jones (121, 100x2, 174) and Max Marray beat 'Apple' (140, 180) and Dave Summerfield (100) to make it 3-2 to The Workers only for Chris Gay (125,100x2) and Brian Farmer (100) overcoming Taff Hartley and Andy Winters (100x2) to send the match into the team game where The
Ex-Servicemen won to progress to the final.
The second semi-final was contested between St James A and The Pike and Eel at The George.
In the first game, Jimmy Hill (140x2,100) and Nigel Turland beat 'Burtie' (140, 125x2, 107) and Willie Taylor (121). 'Juice' (100x2) and Craig Graham (100x2) overcame John Gaul (140) and 'Shammy' to level the match.
'Juice' (100) beat 'Shammy' (104) to make it 2-1 to St James. 'Burtie' (100x2, 180) beat John Gaul (100, 120, 140) to extend the lead for St James.
Willie Taylor (180, 100) saw off the challenge of Nigel Turland to make it 4-1 to St James. Jimmy Hill (100) took the last game for The Pike with a win over Craig Graham (100x2) but it is St James who meet The
Ex-Servicemen in the final.
A great night all round with 180s for Chris Gay, 'Apple', 'Burtie' and Willie Taylor.
A 116 finish for Brian Farmer and a 12-dart finish for Chris Gay capped off some sensational performances.
n Please note will all players attending Singles Night be at your venues for 7.45pm at the latest.
