The Falconer get off to a good opener

This week's first match saw The Pike and Eel host The Falconer and the away side took the first game with a 2-1 victory for Richie Elliott (140, 100) over Mark Taylor (100). Jimmy Hill (100x4, 100st, 140, 101f) levelled for the Pike by beating Clive Hart 3-0.
Nigel Turland (123st, 100x2, 123) gave the Pike the lead with a 2-1 win over Richard Winn (100). Keith Chapman levelled again with a 2-1 victory over Gary Birch (100, 121).

In the final match John Gaul (140,100) beat Dom Pickerin 3-0 to give the
Pike a three games to two win.

The second match saw The Workers take on St James A and the home side took the first game with a 3-0 win for Matt Edgar (105, 125, 100) over Craig Graham (140, 100, 125).

‘Wadey’ (140, 100) extended the lead with a 3-0 win over ‘Juice’ (140, 100). ‘Bully’ (123, 100, 103) reduced the deficit with a 2-1 victory over Max Murray (126f). Dave Hewitt (100x3) made it 3-1 to The Workers with a 2-1 win over Mick Doney.

Ray Jones (100x2, 125, 140) completed a 4-1 win by beating ‘Burtie’ (140, 100) 2-1.

Next match saw The Peppermill travel to Caseys. Chris Gay (100x2, 115f) won the first game by beating Paul Butler (140x2, 100, 105) 2-1. Dave Summerfield (100x2, 140) extended the lead with a 3-0 victory over Phil Turner.

Tony Randall pulled one back for the Millers with a 3-0 win over Ricky Cole (140). Ian Ingram (100x2, 140x2) levelled the match by beating Brian Farmer (180, 100x2) 2-1.

In the final game, Ian Donachie (140) overcame Eddie Sherrick 2-1 to give The Peppermill a three game to two victory.

The final game between Daventry Con Club and The Maltsters was postponed.

Outstanding performances of the night go to Brian Farmer (180).

Thanks were expressed to the people and players who were involved in arranging and attending the winter league presentation night.
