Long Buckby's Ben Foster looks to have been involved in a
three-way tie for the UCL's "golden boot" award after namesake Rob Foster failed to score in Cogenhoe's last match of the season.
Rob was not mentioned in despatches as the Cooks signed off with a 3-2 defeat by Spencer to leave him locked on 33 league and cup goals alongside Ben and Boston's Gary Bull.

Buckby's Ben, who scored 37 times in all competitions, can count himself
unlucky not to have taken the trophy outright after an ankle injury led to his goal supply drying up
in February.

Club colleague Carl Holmes netted 23 times, but Foster's nearest challenger locally was Daventry Town's Tom Berwick, whose 34 goals included two while on midweek loan to Woodford United.

Even though the Town's season comprised only 37 games, Danny Nelson also scored 25 goals and Richard Wesley 20 for the Communications Park club.

Daventry United's leading marksman Tommy Waldock was way out on his own with 29 goals.

But Woodford's difficult Southern League campaign was reflected in the fact that no player reached double figures.

Neil King (now at Rugby Town) led the way with only half-a-dozen goals, followed by Carl Standen (Hook Norton) on five and Paul Lamb and Aylesbury's Glen Hawkins both on the four mark.
