The record books in the Rugby and District 'Twenty/20' Cricket League have been getting an airing in the last two weeks – all thanks to the extraordinary batting efforts of a
New Zealand youngster.
Nineteen-year-old Tim Yeadon (above) has well and truly blasted his name into local cricket fame after not one but two incredible batting performances, smashed in consecutive weeks.

Tim is on a cricket scholarship at Christchurch University on New
Zealand's South Island and has been recruited by village side Guilsborough as a non-paid overseas player for this year.

Guilsborough currently play in Division Three of the RDCL Twenty/20 League and Division Four of the Northants Cricket League on a Saturday.
It is in his last two league performances in the RDCL 'Twenty/20' that Tim, the cousin of former New Zealand test player Peter Fulton, has come to the fore.

First he hit an incredible 180 not out against Oakfield B at Long Lawford in Rugby, an innings which had the statisticians in overdrive searching for details of the highest-ever individual innings in Rugby and District Cricket.

But there was more to come. While records were being verified, Tim then went
one better.

Last Wednesday – a mere seven days later – the young Kiwi hit an astonishing 213 not out at 'home' at Guilsborough against
Newbold B.

Tim's first effort in reaching his 180 saw him hit 12 fours and 13 sixes. In comparison, he then dwarfed that knock by smashing 18 fours and 17 sixes to go past his double ton.

Tim joined Guilsborough primarily as an attacking bowler for their Saturday First XI.

Team mate Graham Cottle said: "To be honest his highest score for us before these games was 51 and he wasn't getting much of a bat on Saturdays coming in at eight.

"He wasn't very happy with batting there so he asked to bat up the order on Wednesday night to stake a claim to move up the order on Saturdays. It wasn't a bad way to do it!"
