Daventry CC created the biggest upset so far this season in the lower divisions of the Northamptonshire Cricket League when beating Division Nine leaders Bold Dragoon in a high-scoring game on Saturday.
More than 500 runs were scored on the artificial wicket at Billing Road in Northampton as Daventry needed only 37 overs to reach 257 and win by seven wickets.

With all-rounder Sabir claiming four wickets for 44 runs, league leaders Bold Dragoon looked to be heading for a fourth win of the season on totalling 256 for six
(Rob Sparling 69).

Despite having lost their opening three matches, Daventry were having none of it as opening batsman Sabir (68 not out) acted as the anchorman.
Stephen Grey (33) shared the opening stand of 80 before Sandeep Kumar (63) completed his half century in only 18 minutes off 21 balls.

Ex-Charlton batsman Mo Ataram added 47 with nine boundaries, including three successive sixes off Bold Dragoon paceman
Jimmy O'Dell.

Rohan Gutteridge also chipped in with an unbeaten 21.
Daventry are well and truly back in business despite losing five players – Warren Courtney, Andy Hill, David Dunn, Duncan Blackwell and Lloyd Liddington – to Badby at the start of the season.
