Daventry Athletic Club's U17s team had an excellent day at Leamington recently finishing second in their Young Athletes League Midland 1 East third round match.
In the U13 boys' age group, Sam Meyler won the 75m hurdles A in a club record equalling time of 12.7 and the long jump A with 4.46m. Ryan Haynes won the high jump A (1.44m) and long jump B (4.40m).

Niklas Aarre won the shot A (8.00m), Keiron Russ
placed second in the 800m A and won the 75m hurdles B and high jump B.

Matt Clarke won the shot B (7.86m) and Liam Barns came third in the 800m B on his debut.

In the girls' section Emily Print won the shot A (5.64m), Emily Spilman won the 75m hurdles A (13.5) and 75m A, Abby Barns was second in the high jump A and 150m B and won the shot B.

Georgia Webster came third in the 150m A and Kaytlan Sutton finished second in the 70m hurdles B.

In the U15 boys' age group Lee Melotti had a hat-trick of wins, including the 100m A (12.1), 80m hurdles A (13.1) and shot A (9.33m).
Jordan Barns won the high jump A and long jump B, Ross Piercewright won the discus A and shot B and was placed second in the
javelin B.

Tom McNevin finished second in the 400m A and long jump A and first in the high jump B. Ebony Hutt won the girls' 75m hurdles A and came second in the discus A and shot A.

Danielle Weston was placed second in the javelin A and Emily Green finished third in the high jump A.

At U17 level, Hannah Green won the girls' long jump, high jump and
javelin A events while Daniel Haynes, on his comeback after injury, won the boys' discus A, javelin A and
shot A.

Team captain Chris Clarke won the triple jump A, Jake Sumpter won the 100m B and long jump B and Dermot Purcell won the shot B and javelin B.
On Sunday at the first Heart of England match at Coventry, Keiron Russ set a new club record of 32.76m in the U13 boys' javelin.

Match Result: 1, Bromsgrove and Redditch 307; 2, Daventry 234; 3, Kettering 192; 4.
Nuneaton 187.
